This post is for those of us who love to ski and want to take a nice mid-winter Canadian Ski Vacation. We have compiled a great ski guide for Canadian Ski Holidays. These great places are waiting to welcome you, your family or your friends.
The Best Skiing In Canada
The following Canadian Ski Resorts are some of our favourites based on advanced/expert terrain, snow quality & quantity, services, terrain, snow & cost:
1000 Chemin des Voyageurs | Mont-Tremblant | Québec | 1.888.738.1777
Mont Tremblant offers a European style pedestrian village, with lodgings, shopping and dining. It is the highest mountain in the Laurentians and offers more trails, snowparks, lifts and snowmaking capacity than any other resort in the region!
4545 Blackcomb Way | Whistler BC
Whistler ski resort is in a class of its own and is considered one of the hottest ski destinations in the world. The Whistler ski resort is massive and it offers amazing terrain diversity and a very efficient lift system. Whistler is so much more than just the skiing and snowboarding and a Whistler ski holiday can also include an abundance of off-slope activities. The pedestrian-only Whistler Village is full of restaurants, bars and plenty of shops to delight any shopper-holic.
Nelson | BC | 1.800.666.9420
This low profile old school resort (aka WH20) is a step back in time. Whitewater is simple and laid back. Whitewater receives a whopping 12 metres of snowfall annually.
The best thing about this Canadian Ski Vacation is that you don’t have to share the fresh powder with the crowds. Whitewater is predominantly a community ski resort. They don’t attempt to compete with the bigger resorts and prefer to retain their charm rather than trying to attract the crowds.
4300 Red Mountain Road | Rossland | BC | 1.877.969.7669
Most skiers and snowboarders have heard of Red Mountain Resort, but in some ways it is still an undiscovered ski destination. The few that do know about the wonders of Red enjoy the major benefits of the uncrowded slopes. Another draw card for Red is the incredibly friendly and laid back vibe of the resort and the nearby town of Rossland. Some visitors come on a ski holiday to Red and never leave because they fall in love with the place.
1500 Kicking Horse Trail | PO Box 839 | Golden | BC | 1.866.SKI.KICK [754.5425]
Have you been kicked by the horse? Your answer is likely to be “yes” if you ski or snowboard one of the many black or double black diamond chutes or bowls at the Kicking Horse Ski Resort. Kicking Horse Mountain Resort has a great reputation for being hard core and many an expert has been humbled here. The mountain cites 45% black runs and 15% double-black diamond runs, although some of the single black diamond runs would be considered double blacks elsewhere. The peaks at Kicking Horse were once only available to lucky heli-skiers, and now us mere mortals can access this great terrain.
Kelowna | BC | 1.800.663.2772
At Big White Canada, great skiing and snowboarding is literally at your doorstep. The Big White ski resort has been really well designed and offers fabulous ski-in ski-out convenience. The mid-mountain car-free village is also ski-in ski-out, and includes shops, cute bars and restaurants, and other facilities.
Big White ski resort is ideal for families because it’s so easy to get around, and there are lots of family friendly activities and facilities such as a Great Family Ski Vacation winning Kid’s Centre. The resort is also loved just as much by those travelling child-free.
We would love to hear all about your ski holidays. If you’ve stayed at any of the resorts listed, please feel free to leave us your personal review. Or if you’ve discovered another great ski resort, tell us all about it.
