Tiffany and I took a trip with our husbands to the very lush and historical town of San Antonio, Texas. We were there for a very special reason as our SEO internet expert for Fanatic Tourist got married! San Antonio is a great city, we are so glad we had such a fabulous excuse to explore it.
The wedding was a traditional, beautiful backyard Texas BBQ, check out them in full wedding gear on their horses after the ceremony!
The wedding was a just out of town so we decided to check out 2 different hotels, staying at one before the wedding and a different one after to give you a different perspective on where to stay in San Antonio. Out first hotel was called Hotel Valencia Riverwalk, a nice location just off the hustle and bustle of the busy part of the Riverwalk above a fantastic Mexican restaurant called Acenar with the best guacamole made at your table and margarita’s in town all in a very romantic setting on the water. The hotel was a little dark but very intimate and cozy with dark wood in the bedrooms. nice white linens and candle lit lobby. I liked it but have to say we loved our second hotel called the Mokara Hotel & Spa.
This hotel was a little pricier so we stayed on the Sunday & Monday which offered much better rates. It was right in the heart of the river walk with spectacular rooms with great views of the river and an incredible roof top pool. The pool was such a bonus with the heat of the city, an amazing oasis above the city and offered incredible sunsets. They also treated us like gold with an upgrade as they were quiet – they went the extra mile for us.
I will follow up with another blog on what to do in San Antonio with great shopping ideas, great dining and evening fun Psst – who does not like a sing along piano bar! – all many more reasons to visit this great city.
